With Spanish and International Health being my area of study these courses were a key part in my curriculum covering topics in culture, literature, and linguistic proficiency. Listed below are some of the Spanish classes I have taken throughout my college career that has helped better my understanding and passion for the language.

INTERMEDIATE SPANISH 

Focused on improving grammatical structures and vocabulary. Practiced listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

SPANISH FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONALS 

Focused on learning  medical concepts and terminology in Spanish, and getting prepared to work within the area of public health. 

SPAN 4180

TECHNICAL SPANISH FOR HEALTH MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS

Addresses technical health communication in Spanish, with an emphasis on managerial and business aspects in international healthcare systems and industries.  

SPAN 4190

HEALTH AND THE HISPANIC COMMUNITY 

Focused on cultural aspects of health and health services within Hispanic populations in Spanish. 

SPAN 3050

INTERMEDIATE SPANSISH CONVERSATION AND COMPOSITION 

Focused on Spanish conversation  with emphasis on vocabulary, pronunciation, intonation, and comprehension. Included written work to increase accuracy and assignments in the language laboratory.

SPAN 3080

THE HISPANIC WORLD: LATIN AMERICA

Introduction to the significant aspects of the culture of Latin-American countries. Emphasis is placed on the development of the political, economical, geographical, social, and artistic aspects of  Latin America from the indigenous period to the present.

SPAN 3180

SPANISH  THROUGH CULTURE

Topic-generated conversation course in Spanish through a broad array of artistic manifestations in the Hispanic World with an emphasis on conversation and short written exercises. Focused on one Hispanic culture topic which provided a basis for in-class discussion and short written compositions in Spanish.
